Atlanta writer pens Hallmark Christmas movie
ATLANTA - Nothing says the holidays like curling up on the couch and binge-watching some Hallmark Channel Christmas movies. And a new one premiering this week has a unique Atlanta connection.
Award-winning playwright and Atlanta resident Topher Payne wrote the script for Broadcasting Christmas, which premieres on Hallmark Channel Wednesday, November 23 at 8 p.m. The movie stars Melissa Joan Hart and Dean Cain as rival television personalities fighting over the same job co-hosting America’s number-one morning show. Sparks fly amid the competition, of course, and Payne says his script is full of “Hepburn-Tracy” banter sure to please fans of the popular Hallmark Channel Christmas lineup.
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken sat down with the writer to talk about the project, and the personal connection he feels to the network’s content.
