Burgers with Buck: Jim Adams Farm & Table
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - You are more than likely familiar with the farm to table trend. The concept promotes serving locally sourced food, in most cases directly acquired by the producer.
Chuck Meadows from Jim Adams Farm & Table in Northwest Atlanta takes the concept a step further. You see, Chuck’s great uncle Jim Adams was a farmer in Greene County, Georgia (between Atlanta and Augusta) in the early 1900’s. The family farm is still there on Jim Adams Road, and when Meadows took his daughters to see their family legacy, he was inspired. The result, a lifelong public servant decided to tap into his family roots and reinvent himself and Jim Adams Farm & Table restaurant was born.
The goal, get the consumer as close to the source of the food as possible, and the ingredients just don’t get any fresher than what you’ll find on the menu at Jim Adams Farm & Table in the Northwest Atlanta (or soon to be known as Atlanta’s Upper West Side).
I know what you’re thinking though . . . this is #BurgersWithBuck, right?
Yes it is, and while we love fresh, home-cooked vegetables as much as anyone, #BellPeppersWithBuck just doesn’t have a ring to it. You know the #BWB staff is always searching far and wide for the next great burger, and not only have we found it, but you can also pair it with incredible vegetables like their brown buttered sweet potatoes, and maybe even a vegan shake. It’s truly the best of both worlds.
When we noticed the Bougie Burger on the menu, it was obvious which one we should feature this week. Like you, we wondered what makes a burger bougie? And can it possibly live up to its name?
The answer to the first question starts with a delicious six-ounce pattie and an H&F bun.
Now to the bougie part. Remember those fresh vegetables from the farm in Greene Co.? It stars with sautéed mushroom and onions, seasoned and then grilled to get the perfect char. Then it is covered with a generous portion of their super-secret, trademarked, and very delicious Piedmont Peppercorn Sauce.
Now you know the reporter in me tried to get to the bottom of this secret recipe, but once I realized that the price to pay was my own life (He’d tell, but then he’d have to kill me.), I decided to just enjoy it, and I did. Pretty sure you will too.
Now to the vegan shake, which some might also consider a little bougie. Meadows tricked me into something that was healthier than I expected, and much more delicious that I expected too. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got nothing against healthy, and the combination of mango gelato and almond milk, made for a delicious vegan mango shake, which turned out to be the perfect complement to the Bougie Burger.
