Getting that 'beach bod' with Surf's Up Fitness
WOODSTOCK, Ga. - We’re just one week away from Memorial Day, which marks the unofficial start of summer and the beginning of “beach season.” And there’s no better way to get beach-ready than hopping up on a surfboard and getting a total body workout!
That’s the idea behind Surf’s Up Fitness, a fitness studio located in Woodstock and with several other planned locations in Metro Atlanta. Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at the Woodstock Surf’s Up, learning more about the team’s unique approach to fitness, which includes classes designed around a “total body surf trainer” – basically a surf board without the ocean beneath it! Surf’s Up Fitness offers several kinds of classes, categorized by names like Focus (which focuses on flexibility and balance), Power (a workout using resistance and weights), and Torch (dedicated to burning fat). A full schedule of classes can be found online, and also include classes for kids, which are held on Saturday mornings.
Surf’s Up Fitness is located at 2990 Eagle Drive, Suite #102, in Woodstock. It’s open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
