Atlanta Police search for reality TV cast member as witness in deadly shooting
ATLANTA - Atlanta Police are searching for a reality TV show cast member and rapper who they describe as a witness in a murder investigation. Officers say they want to question Lyndon Akhil Smith, who goes by the name "Sas". Smith has been featured in the VH1 TV series "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta".
Police say Smith may have information about a shooting that happened Monday night on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Officers responded to a reported shooting and found a victim who had been shot in the head in a parking lot. That man was taken to Grady Hospital, where he later died.
Soon after that, other officers investigated a crash at a nearby ramp onto I-285. The driver of the vehicle involved in the wreck had also been shot. The driver died from his injuries.
Investigators determined that at the time of the shooting, the driver was also in the parking lot where the first victim was found.
Officers say they have little information about the circumstances that led to the gunfire. However, they are now asking for the public's help in finding Smith.
There is a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in the shooting. People with information can contact Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-TIPS or online at www.StopCrimeATL.com.
