Atlanta's mayor wants to raise awareness about human trafficking

ATLANTA - Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms joined State Attorney General Chris Carr and the leadership of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to discuss human trafficking.

Monday morning, Bottoms and others reaffirmed their commitment to stopping human trafficking in Atlanta and across Georgia.

Experts said Atlanta and the surrounding areas have seen a rise in human trafficking as the metro Atlanta area has expanded.

According to the attorney general, victims are usually girls between 12 and 14.

Among the signs that can be looked for is children who won't make eye contact, kids who look malnourished, and overly controlling behavior from the adults.
