Barrow County parents charged with child abuse

BARROW COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Barrow County Sheriff's deputies arrested a father on 26 counts of aggravated battery along with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Investigators said he abused his 4-month-old baby.

Deputies arrested Louis Coleman, Sr. after the baby was admitted to the hospital with broken bones that deputies say are consistent with abuse.

Deputies also arrested the baby's mother, Seleta Basinger, on charges of cruelty to children.

It was not immediately clear if either had a lawyer or when their next court appearance was scheduled.
