Damaged fire extinguisher thwarts store burglary

COWETA COUNTY, Ga (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A fire extinguisher douses a burglar's attempt to rob a Coweta County Dollar General.

The suspect was caught on camera trying to break into the store on West Highway 34 in Coweta County.

The surveillance video shows the man using the fire extinguisher to try to bust out the store window.

But as soon as it hits the glass, the extinguisher explodes and leaves the man covered in foam.

Police say he left empty-handed and did not damage the store.
