Deputies: Mother admits shooting child, charges mother with murder
NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. - Sheriff’s Officials tell FOX 5, Jennifer Bellah called 911 from her home on Brown Thrasher Run in Oxford just before 6 p.m. Tuesday night.
Deputy Favel Edwards, Newton County Sheriff’s Office says “Bellah advised that she had shot her daughter.”

Responding deputies found the toddler unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jennifer Bellah, 31, was alone with the child at the time of the shooting and acted alone, say investigators.
Deputies immediately detained the child’s mother and obtained a search warrant for the home.
Edwards says, “and a pistol, a spent shell and several bullets were recovered at the scene.”
Bellah now charged with murder and aggravated assault remains behind bars in the Newton County Jail.
Residents we talked to wouldn’t go on camera but say Bellah and her daughter live with Bellah’s parents and threw a party for the little girl just a few weeks ago.
Edwards says, “Her family has been fully cooperative with law enforcement.”
