Deputies searching for armed Waffle House robbers

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is trying to find the identity of two suspects in an early-morning Waffle House robbery.

Deputies said that the robbery happened before 4 a.m. on Saturday at a Waffle House on Highway 92.

They said that two men entered the restaurant carrying firearms and demand money from the store's cash register.

The suspects weren't able to get the money, however, because a patron eating in the restaurant at the time drew his own gun and fired at them, authorities said. After the shot, the suspects fled the area. possibly driving away in a silver SUV.

Surveillance footage shows the two men wearing black hoodies. One man's hoodie had a picture of a basketball player jumping. The other's had the words "Been Broke Before" on the front.

Police consider the suspects armed and dangerous.
