Explosion, fire destroy baseball field house at South Paulding High School

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Officials are investigating a giant explosion outside South Paulding High School.

The fire destroyed the baseball field house and thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

Officials said someone was filling up a lawn mower with gas when a spark caught the building on fire, then ignited nearby propane tanks.

Amazingly, no one was hurt.

The South Paulding baseball team is playing in the second round of the state playoffs Wednesday.

They'll have to borrow equipment and jerseys.
