Dam Tyrone II said he was in the checkout line at the Publix on Campbellton Road in Fairburn the day after Thanksgiving when the cashier pulled out her own debit card and paid for a customer's groceries. He identified her as "Sierra" and said she helped a customer who didn't have enough money.
Tyrone said the act of kindness inspired him to also pay it forward.
"So, today at Walmart, I decided to pay for the customer's groceries behind me," he said. "This is what Thanksgiving is all about, but without hesitation, she went in her purse and paid the bill. That simple gesture easily changed someone's life."
Tyrone urged others to give back and pay it forward.
"Many people went starving this Thanksgiving. We need more people like Sierra."
Tyrone shared a photo of Sierra last Friday. The image has garnered more than 2,000 likes.
