Fuel tanker tipped at Zebulon gas station
ZEBULON, Ga. - A fuel truck has tipped forward at a gas station near Zebulon Wednesday afternoon.
It happened the Flash Foods on Main Street. Anita Neath with the Pike County Fire Department said the tractor pulling the tanker experienced mechanical failure and needed to be towed. The tanker was set up on its stands, but the fuel in the front and middle sections caused the tanker to tip forward.
The Atlanta Fire Department was asked to help in the situation. Firefighters from Atlanta responded with a specialized foam truck just in case.
Firefighters said they are bringing in another tanker to offload the fuel.
There have been no reports of injuries.
Zebulon is a little less than 50 miles south of Atlanta.
