Fundraiser created to help family of murdered Locust Grove officer
HENRY COUNTY, Ga. - Friends and strangers from around the world have gathered together to help the family of the Locust Grove police officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Officer Chase Maddox was helping Henry County deputies serve an arrest warrant when the shooting occurred. Maddox died on the way to the hospital, leaving behind a wife who is expecting the couple's second boy this month.

Maddox's death, the ninth officer death in the country this year so far, has been met with an outpouring of grief from the whole nation and has left many people wondering how they can support his family through this tough time.
Chief Patton said Toyota of McDonough is accepting donations for a special vehicle to accommodate the needs of their young son. The family is also requesting that the public call the police department with inquiries on how to send donations.
