GBI: DNA links man to 3 rapes over past 12 years

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Georgia police said DNA evidence has linked a Cobb County man to three rapes over the past 12 years.

Christopher Charles Sanders, 51, was arrested Sept. 5 at a motel in Canton.

Thursday he was indicted on three rape charges connected to separate cases in 2006, 2011, and 2013.

The charges were only recently brought against sanders after old DNA kits were tested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The state passed a law in 2016 requiring all rape kits be submitted to the GBI for testing.
