GSP: Driver killed by debris in fiery crash on I-20 in Atlanta
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - One person was killed along Interstate 20 Thursday evening after debris from a fiery crash flew into opposing traffic.
The Georgia State Patrol said a tractor-trailer lost control and overturned in the middle of the eastbound lanes near Fulton Industrial Boulevard around 7:30 p.m.
That accident caused a multi-vehicle crash involving a second tractor-trailer.
Police said the front of the truck hit the barrier wall, sending concrete and debris from the truck into the westbound lanes.
Two cars were struck by that debris. One of the drivers was killed.
I-20 was shut down for several hours while crews worked to investigate and clean up the mess.
No word on the cause of the crash or if there will be any charges.
The names of those involved have not yet been released.
