Gwinnett Police: Robbers went on $76K crime spree
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Detectives with the Gwinnett County Police Department are searching for three burglars who stole over $75,000 in cash and property from local businesses in a single night.
Officials say the three men went on a crime spree in unincorporated Norcross and Atlanta in the early morning hours Tuesday, June 12 at three different businesses.
According to police, the thieves started their spree at a Five Star Food Mart in the 5000 block of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Less than 15 minutes later, they struck again at a Cricket Wireless a few blocks away from the first location. Afterward, the suspects robbed a Global Forum on the 7100 block of Buford Highway.
In each case, the suspects either pried open the doors with a yellow crowbar or smashed the glass door. They spent only one to three minutes in each store.
In total, police believe they stole over $76,000 in property and caused nearly $2,000 worth of damage.
Police described the three suspects as black males in their late teens or twenties with slim builds. The first suspect wore gray or brown boots, black pants, a black hoodie, orange underwear, and white gloves. The second had royal blue sneakers, gray sweatpants, a black hoodie, green and tan boxers, and white gloves. The final suspect was wearing black and white sneakers, black pants, a black hoodie, royal blue underwear, and white gloves.
The suspects were driving a 2000's model BMW four-door sedan that was either gray, silver, or light blue.
