Home Depot volunteers spruce up veterans' homes

ATLANTA - Four families, including two U.S. veterans living in Mechanicsville are now enjoying their beautified and improved homes.

As part of national volunteer week, the Home Depot teamed up with the organization House Proud.

More than eighty volunteers worked to transform the property on Dodd Avenue Wednesday.

FOX 5 News spoke to one of the veterans who live there. He said he appreciated people still respect his sacrifice for his country.

The group spent the day completing critical home repairs, installing handrails and ramps as well as landscaping.
