Man dead after shooting at NW Atlanta apartments
ATLANTA - A deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Northwest Atlanta has led to a tragic end for one young man.
Police say a man in his 30s was gunned down in the 900 block of Desoto Street early Sunday morning and they've spent the last few hours searching for evidence to figure out what exactly happened.
"Units received a phone call that a male had been shot at the apartments," the Atlanta Police Department's Lieutenant Andrea Webster said. "Initial information shows that the victim has been shot multiple times and has subsequently died as a result of his wounds."
Officers say the victim and at least one other person were inside an apartment when something went terribly wrong.
"It began inside the apartment complex ... and it continued out into the front lawn of this apartment complex," Webster said.
Investigators spent the morning searching the area.
They say they found evidence that has led them to believe the shooting was likely drug-related.
Police do not have a suspect in custody or any information on who that suspect may be. They are planning to review surveillance video to see if they can find any new details.
