Man drowns after falling into Lake Lanier
FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. - A day at the lake turned into tragedy after police say a man drowned in Lake Lanier.
Forsyth County deputies and fire officials were called a home in Georgia at 9:56 p.m. on May 12, after a man said that his father had fallen off their dock and never resurfaced.
Using a dive team, officials began to search for 59-year-old Alpharetta resident Jalil Poorak. After a little more than two hours, they found him.
Poorak was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the drowning.
