New class of firefighters graduate in DeKalb County
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - The DeKalb County Fire Department has 23 new firefighters.
The department held a graduation ceremony Thursday evening.
Graduates completed a rigorous field orientation.
That included about 20 weeks for recruits with previous EMS training and 40 weeks for those with no prior experience.
The fire chief said he couldn't be more excited for the graduates.
The fire chief also said all of the department's positions are filled and they have 74 more firefighting recruits currently going through training.
