Victims identified in deadly Union County plane crash
BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Authorities have identified three people killed in a plane crash in north Georgia Wednesday evening.
Union County Fire Rescue has identified the victims as Robert Atkinson, 56, of Blairsville, Renea Greiner, 55, of Blairsville, and Michelle Seay, 50, of Blairesville.
The crash happened near the Blairsville Airport in Union County just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities said a single-engine Piper PA-28 Cherokee with four passengers aboard crashed about a half mile from the runaway.
The sole survivor was taken by air ambulance to an area trauma center. The patient was listed in critical condition.
The plane’s flight path was not immediately known.
The NTSB and FAA are investigating the crash.
