Part of overpass collapses on car near I-75/I-24 merger

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - One person was injured after concrete from a bridge collapsed on a car in Chattanooga Monday.

The collapse happened at a section of highway that merges Interstate 75 and Interstate 24.

The car was under the bridge when it collapsed but the driver wasn't seriously injured.

All lanes were blocked as crews clean up the concrete.

Workers also will need to inspect the bridge and figure out the full extent of the damage before lanes could be reopened. Repairs are expected to take weeks.
