Police: 13-year-old shot, killed in Clayton County townhome

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Police in Clayton County are trying to find the person who killed a 13-year-old boy Tuesday night.

Clayton County Police said emergency workers found the boy face-down on the floor in a townhome located on Brookview Drive suffering from a gunshot wound. Rescuers were not able to revive the child.

Investigators said several people were home at the time of the incident and detectives have been speaking to them.

Neighbors said the boy attended Riverdale Middle School. A letter was sent home to parents Wednesday afternoon letting the school community know about the tragedy.
