There's been a major update in the murder of Chelsea Beller, the restaurant manager of Barcelona Wine Bar.

The Atlanta Police Department says they now have a DNA match from blood left behind when the robbers fled.

Police aren't ready to say that an arrest is imminent, but they did say a match is a major development in.

Investigators say when the three men fled they carjacked a Lyft driver, bailed out a short distance later then tried to scale a barbed wire fence, leaving blood evidence on discarded clothing.

"Gloves, clothing, things like that so we sent them to the GBI crime lab for analysis to see if we could pull any DNA," APD Spokesman Carlos Campos said.

Campos said the DNA analysis, at least some of it, matched a database of known criminals.

"At least some of the DNA we have collected has given us a match with a known individual," he said. "We are extremely encouraged by this lead, we're not prepared to say who it is."

Campos said APD is purposely keeping details close to the vest to allow homicide investigators the latitude they need in bringing the case to justice.

This is a key step in moving closer to our ultimate goal of bringing these perpetrators of this heinous criminal act to justice," he said.
