Police investigating after body found in creek
POLK COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police are working to solve a mystery after a body was found in a shallow creek in Polk County.
According to police, the body was discovered near Elm Street and Jones Avenue on Saturday after someone noticed a bad odor and called 911.
The body was covered by bushes and, due to the decomposition, could have been there for around a week, the coroner said.
Police say the victim was a man who had several visible tattoos. His race was not clear.
Rockmart authorities have sent the body to the GBI for further analysis.
Right now, there's no word on the cause of death.
