Police investigate shooting death at party in Cobb County
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A mother is pleading for young people to go to the police with information after the shooting death of her son in Cobb County over the weekend.
Cobb County Police are still searching for the gunman accused of killing 20-year-old Ty Koen at a home on Hunter Road in Powder Springs.
Brooke Koen, the victim's mother, told a crowd Monday at a vigil for her son that she desperately wants justice.
"It's time for you all to fight for him because he always fought for you. He was the definition of loyal," Koen told the group. "If anybody knows anything, you need to talk."
Family and friends told FOX 5 the party that Koen attended was a celebration for a soldier returning home.
Koen's cousin, Austin Gunter, said there was a big commotion before the gunfire.
"I saw him get hit, and I ran over there. And about two steps later, I heard shots rang out. I walked up and my cousin was dead on his face," Gunter said.
Loved ones said Koen had plans of going into the military and leaves behind eight brothers and sisters.
