Gunman sought after man shot, killed in DeKalb County apartment

Loved ones plead for a murderer to be captured after a 33-year-old man was shot and killed at the Heights at Chamblee apartments on Chamblee Tucker Road. 

Relatives identify the man to FOX 5 News as Isidro Cruz, 33, who lived at the complex with his sister and her family. 

Loved ones told FOX 5 News Cruz was coming home from the store when according to investigators, an unknown male approached him. Witnesses told authorities they heard an argument followed by a single gunshot. 

Investigators said the victim was shot in his stomach area. Cell phone video given to FOX 5 News by loved ones show paramedics rushing to save his life. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later died. 

Police said the suspect ran from the scene. 

"This could happen again... We're not safe," said friend and neighbor Juan Guerrero, who worked with Cruz on construction sites. He describes Cruz as a good friend who was well-liked by neighbors, relatives and neighborhood kids.

No word from police on a description of the suspect and a motive. Anyone with information is asked to contact DeKalb County Police. People can also call Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous, and tipsters can call 404-577-TIPS for rewards up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.
