Police are searching for multiple gunmen after a deadly drive-by shooting in Riverdale.

The frightening ordeal happened Wednesday shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Ridge Trail. Riverdale Police said the two men were gunned down while sitting in a parked car.

Police tell FOX 5, a vehicle pulled up and "multiple" gunmen starting shooting a number of bullets.

Both men were rushed to an area hospital, where one of the men, only identified as a 25-year-old man who residents said lived in the neighborhood, was pronounced dead.

The other man, whose condition was not immediately known, was only identified as a 20-year-old man.

A description of the getaway vehicle was not immediately available.

Bullet holes could be seen in open doors of the blue Hyundai Accent at the scene as investigators combed over the car for evidence.

The names of the victims have not yet been released; a woman at the scene tearfully identified the deceased man as her son and did not release his name.

Residents are concerned about the gunmen still on the loose.

"I'm scared for the kids. They might be out here... and it might happen again," said concerned neighbor Marshall Allen, who said no crimes like this have happened in the years they've lived in the neighborhood.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been asked to help with the investigation.
