Police: Man shot in face while trying to break up fight

ATLANTA - A man was shot in the face while trying to break up a fight in southwest Atlanta Friday morning, according to police.

Atlanta Police were called to the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive shortly before 11 a.m. Friday.

Responding officers learned a man was shot while attempting to break up two people involved in a fight. He was shot in the face.

According to police, the victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. He was alert, conscious and breathing when he was transported.

Police said one person is being detained in connection with the shooting.
