Police: Parents arrested after 3-year-old shot

Police have arrested two Atlanta parents for the shooting on their 3-year-old boy.

Officials told FOX 5 that on Friday, Sept. 14, 40-year-old Gilbert Hardy and 28-year-old Sasiya Dixon brought a 3-year-old to Emory Midtown Hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.

The hospital staff notified police, who came and spoke with the two parents.

After learning that the shooting happened at a home on the 1100 block of 2nd Street NW, officers searched the location to find evidence of the shooting.

Police have now charged Hardy with reckless conduct, cruelty to children, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and tampering with evidence. Dixon has been charged with reckless conduct and cruelty to children. More charges may be pending.

The little boy is now in stable condition and has been transported to Egleston Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
