Police rescue fleeing suspect with forklift
DULUTH, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Duluth Police said a suspect on the run ended up needing a safe rescue by forklift, after the man was found 20 feet high in the air following a car chase and a foot pursuit.
Police charged suspect Jonathan Ryno with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and driving with an expired tag. Bodycamera and dashcam videos show the bizarre search and arrest.
Police said Friday Dec. 7, along Buford Highway, an officer attempted to pull over a Chrysler Town & Country with an expired tag; officers said the car did not stop and fled the area away from officers.
Officers found the suspect and the vehicle on the premises of Capitol Materials, surrounded the area, and searched the building with a K-9.
Officers found a trail of footprints that suddenly ended and found that the suspect had scaled 20 feet of drywall.
After officers scaled the drywall and placed the man in handcuffs, the construction workers used a forklift to safely get the suspect and officers down from the top.
Officers thank the construction workers for their efforts to safely apprehend the suspect.
