Police search for suspect in deadly dog shooting
ATLANTA - Atlanta Police want to find a man accused of shooting and killing a puppy in northwest Atlanta.
The incident happened September 13 on Hightower Road in front of several children, according to investigators.
Officers said they are looking for a man named CJ, who they believe lives nearby in along Center Street.
Neighbors said the four-month-old chocolate lab mix named Lady was outside barking at the man and his female companion when he opened fire. FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell spoke with the little boy whose family owned the the dog. He told Mitchell he was holding the dog when the shooting happened.
"I feel sad. But I have been thinking about it. And I have been thinking about her everyday," the boy said about the dog.
Witnesses said Lady was very friendly and only barked at the two people. They also said the man walks around the neighborhood often and played with the dog the day before the incident. They believe he may have shot the dog in some sort of retaliation.
