Police: Teen killed while trying to rob man walking dog

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A teen is dead and two suspects are on the run after the trio attempted to rob a man walking his dog.

DeKalb County Police said the deadly encounter happened on Cedar Croft Lane in the Oaks of Wellborn Subdivision Wednesday night around 10:30 p.m.

Police are not releasing the dog owner's name, but they said the teens rolled up in a white SUV and pulled a gun on the dog owner while trying to rob him.

FOX 5 News obtained video of the fatal shooting. It shows the two confronting the homeowner with the dog on a chain. The video shows the homeowner firing at both suspects. One is shot and falls to the ground. The second suspect takes off running, the third drives away.

Police are working to find the two suspects. The DeKalb Medical Examiner’s Office said the dead teen is listed as John Doe at this time.
