Police officers in Dunwoody are trying to find the people who stole a wallet from a little boy.

Dunwoody Police said a 26-year-old man was shopping with his nephew at Perimeter Mall on August 19. The uncle said his nephew wanted to play with his keys, which were attached to his wallet. The uncle told FOX 5 News he turned his back for just a moment, and that’s when the crooks made their move.

“It is easy pickings from the suspects’ point of view. The child was obviously enamored by the keys and at that moment, someone takes advantage of that situation and takes form the kid,” said Dunwoody Police Lt. Fidel Espinoza.

The wallet was gone in a flash, and so were the crooks.  In less than an hour, the uncle got an alert from his bank that his debit card was being used at the Walmart just down the street.

Dunwoody Police have surveillance photos from Walmart of the two men and one woman who they way tried to cash in with that stolen debit card.  They posted the photos to their Facebook page hoping someone can identify them.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact Det. Stallings at 678-382-6921 or anthony.stallings@dunwoodyga.gov.
