Police: Robbery suspect killed, 2nd suspect on the run
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police are trying to determine if a deadly overnight shooting in northwest Atlanta was a case of self-defense.
Investigators told FOX 5 News a man, described as in his 20s or 30s, knocked on an apartment door just before 11 p.m. Monday. There were four people inside the apartment in Building D of the Daron Village complex on Harwell Road. After answering the door, some kind of fight broke out between the people inside and the man who knocked.
Detectives said a woman inside the apartment fired a gun, killing the man.
The woman who opened fire remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. They interviewed her and the others inside the apartment trying to figure out what led up to the gunfire.
Detectives don't know if the victim had any relationship with the people inside the apartment. They said this could end up being a self-defense case, but add it's too early to know if the man killed was trying to rob the people in the apartment.
