Possible 'sick out' planned for DeKalb County school bus drivers
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Parents are growing concerned over a planned “sick out” over the next few days for one of metro Atlanta’s largest school districts. DeKalb County parents may have to drive their child to school starting as early as Wednesday because of it.
FOX 5 News was the only news crew at DeKalb County School Board headquarters Tuesday as animated school bus drivers filed out of a meeting with superintendent Dr. Stephen Green.
They shared their frustrations about salary, health and retirement benefits and other issues they said have reached a boiling point.
A flyer circulating among employees urged bus drivers to call out sick on Thursday, Friday, and Monday
Dr. Green hoped it doesn't come to that and said some of the complaints can be immediately addressed, Others, he said, will take some time to evaluate.
