Reality star charged with child cruelty appears before judge
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - "Love and Hip Hop" star Tommie Lee, who's accused of violently attacking her own daughter, appeared before a judge Thursday morning.
The Atlanta reality star was arrested by Smyrna Police Tuesday night. According to police, Lee, whose real name is Atasha Jefferson, went into a violent rage at Griffin Middle School, where her daughter is a student. Officials said the 34-year-old grabbed her daughter by her hair and "shoved her head first forcefully into a medal school locker." The report goes on to say Jefferson hit the child with the strap on her purse, and "grabbed her hair then forced her to walk down the hallway".
Jefferson is charged with cruelty to children and aggravated assault, both felonies. She is also charged with three counts of simple battery and disruption of a public school.
She bonded out of jail Wednesday morning, then appeared before a judge on Thursday. The judge read the charges to Jefferson, then announced her next court date, November 6 at 1 p.m.
Jefferson wasn't released because she violated the conditions of her bond by making contact with her daughter and going back to their home.
She remains behind bars.
