Reality Winner could enter plea deal for leaking classified documents
AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Georgia woman accused of leaking classified documents could be reaching a plea deal as early as next week.
Winner has been in jail near Augusta for more than a year.
Federal court records show the plea deal was entered Thursday and a hearing is set for next week.
Federal prosecutors said Winner admitted to smuggling classified documents out of the Augusta NSA office by stuffing them in her pantyhose. Investigators said Winner leaked information about Russian hacking of state election systems leading up to the 2016 presidential election.
The federal docket report does not indicate what charges winner will plead guilty to.
