Spalding County masked armed robbery search

Authorities are looking for two masked gunmen who have been terrorizing businesses and they hope their unique outfits can help track them down. Sheriff's deputies in Spaulding County say these robberies are becoming more and more dangerous.

The robberies happened in Spalding County on January 21 and 22. There is a $5,000 reward for their capture and conviction.

"These are getting more and violent. They are happening in all different hours of the day and that is concerning to us," says Sheriff Darrell Dix.

The first robbery happened at Copeland's Grocery on Highfalls Road. The second at a Family Dollar on N. Hill Street.

Surveillance video of the two men shows them coming into the store with the masks on. At one point the camera captures one of the robbers pointing his gun at the head of an employee. They empty out cash drawers and a safe.

Investigators say one of the men was wearing a red hoodie, black pants with the red stripe and gray running shoes. The other wore a black hoodie, black pants with white stripes.

The man with the gun paces and points the weapon, switching the gun from his right hand to his left.

Investigators are hoping that these masks are so distinctive that someone who knows the men have seen the masks too.

"They look almost metallic kind of like a transformers type of masks," the sheriff says.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office.
