I-285 reopens after overturned tanker spills 4K gallons of fuel
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - A wreck involving a tanker truck caused major delays on Interstate 285 in Fulton County Tuesday morning.
The accident happened on I-285 westbound at Jonesboro Road around 3 a.m. Authorities told FOX 5 the tanker flipped and spilled about 4,000 gallons of diesel fuel onto the interstate, which forced both directions of traffic to shut down.
The scene has since cleared and all lanes of traffic have reopened.
Fire officials told FOX 5 the tanker driver was taken to the hospital. No word yet on the driver's condition.
