Thousands of north Ga. children head back to school

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. - Summer vacation has ended for thousands of Georgia children.

Monday morning, students went back to school in Henry, Rockdale, and Jackson Counties.

The Henry County school system has 42,000 students and is the eighth largest in the state.

FOX 5 News was at Hickory Flat Elementary School in McDonough as children filed in for classes Monday morning.

Officials told FOX 5 they're excited about the new school year.
