Trial begins for man accused of raping woman behind Atlanta church

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The trial is beginning for a man accused of raping a woman at knifepoint behind an Atlanta church.

Kristopher Roberson faces several charges, including rape, aggravated assault and kidnapping.

Police say that in August 2014, Roberson ambushed the woman along Smith Street in Atlanta.

They say he forced her into his SUV at knifepoint, then took her to a church parking lot and attacked her.

Roberson was previously convicted of a similar crime in another part of Atlanta.
