Two killed in tractor-trailer crash on Atlanta highway
ATLANTA - Police are on the scene of a fatal wreck which involved multiple tractor-trailers in southwest Atlanta.
Officials said the accident happened on Interstate 285 northbound at the Camp Creek Parkway exit Tuesday around noon.
According to Georgia State Patrol, a tractor-trailer struck three other tractor-trailers and one passenger car. The car was pushed under another truck.
Two people, including the driver of the passenger car, were killed in the wreck. They have not been identified at this time. Five people have been transported to Grady Hospital.
Two of the four right lanes on I-285 northbound are blocked. Officials are urging motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 85 and westbound on I-285 to use another route for the next few hours while they attempt to clear the wreck.
The investigation is continuing.
