Atlanta Braves pitchers and catchers report in Florida
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The calendar might still say February, but as far as Braves fans are concerns spring has finally arrived.
Pitchers and catchers reported to the Atlanta Braves spring training camp in Kissimmee on Friday. The first scheduled workout is not until Saturday, but the boys of summer were eager to get warmed up for their season. The FOX 5 Sports Team caught them getting right to work.
This is the final spring training at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports. It has given this year’s camp a different vibe that and the drive to repeat last year’s success.
The Braves arrive as the defending National League East Champions. That sounds great and is a good reason for confidence and optimism, but things have gotten tougher. The rest of the division has beefed up their lineups, while the Braves, with the exception of adding Josh Donaldson and Brian McCann, have basically stuck with what they got.
But again, what they got took them to the top of the division last year and Braves manager Brian Snitker is not stressing over it one bit.
