Clayton County apartments evacuated due to flash flooding
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Storms moving through the metro Atlanta area on Saturday, forced a Clayton County apartment complex to be evacuated.
According to Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services, The Park at Mt. Zion, apartments at 701 Mt. Zion Road were evacuated due to flash flooding.
The Red Cross is assisting people who were displaced by the flooding.
A Flash Flood warning was also issued for parts of Meriwether County and Coweta County through 2:15 a.m. Sunday. Although further rainfall for Saturday night was not in the forecast.
Sunday afternoon will bring more showers and t-showers with the possibility of flooding due to the slow movement of the storms.
Monday and Tuesday will be similar with showers and thunder showers likely in the afternoon and evening.
