Jessica Szilagyi

Jessica Szilagyi has worked in the political realm since 2009 at which time she began working the campaign circuit to get local and state level candidates elected, immediately regretting almost all of them. The soul-crushing experience led her to launch her own blog focused on accountability in government, ultimately opening the door for her to write for the political website Peach Pundit (now GeorgiaPol.com).

A glutton for punishment, Szilagyi finds it amusing to foist her idealism upon the Gold Dome where she has worked as a policy analyst for a dozen Georgia legislators for the last seven years, inadvertently converting her into a legislative watchdog.

Now, as an investigative journalist for AllOnGeorgia, Szilagyi spends her days kicking ant hills, exposing ineptocracies, and highlighting corruption in local governments across the state - a great use of her MPA from the University of Georgia. She’s been a Fox 5 "Like It or Not" contributor since 2016.

Despite the metro-Atlanta roots, Szilagyi sought asylum south of the gnat line in 2015- citing intolerance to traffic. With her two labradors in tow, Szilagyi moved to rural south Georgia where she’s still remains a little too city for the country and a little too country for the city.
