DULUTH, Ga. - It first premiered in 2005 and has since won over fans around the globe, performing before sell-out crowds in nearly 20 counties. Now, it’s Metro Atlanta’s turn to catch one of Cirque du Soleil’s most acclaimed productions, during a limited run starting Wednesday evening.
Cirque du Soleil’s Corteo takes over Duluth’s Infinite Energy Arena from August 29th through September 2nd for a run of just seven performances. The show, directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, features a cast of more than 50 actors, singers, musicians, and acrobats, who bring to life the unusual story of a clown’s vibrant and circus-like funeral.
Corteo debuted more than a decade ago in Montreal under the big top and was performed that way for years; it was recently re-staged as an arena show, premiering in its new format earlier this year in New Orleans.
Showtimes at the Infinite Energy Arena are 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets start at $49.
