Conyers restaurant serves up taste of the South

Talk about a Christmas gift for fans of southern cooking.  Nana's Chicken-N-Waffles opened on December 26 last year, and the Conyers restaurant has been spicing up the metro Atlanta food scene ever since.

Owner Kelli Ferrell and her husband Mark created Nana's Chicken-N-Waffles to showcase the kind of southern cuisine with which they grew up (in Maryland and Louisiana, respectively).  That cuisine includes Cajun shrimp Po' Boys, fried green tomatoes, beignets, and Nana's warm banana bread.  Of course, given the restaurant's name, customers will expect some true southern chicken and waffles, and the menu at Nana's features five types of waffles, ranging from malted traditional to red velvet.  The restaurant serves breakfast and lunch daily and is located at 1040 Flat Shoals Rd SE.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken is always on the lookout for a new breakfast spot, and spent the morning in Conveys checking out the goods at Nana's!
