ATLANTA - World Salsa Championships Burns Up Downtown Atlanta: The world's best salsa dancers are in Atlanta this week, ready to burn up the floor at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis for the 5th World Salsa Championships.
The competition features dancers from countries including Colombia, Venezuela, and Slovenia among others, who will compete in five divisions (including, for the first time ever, a same-gender division). The competition takes place on December 9 and 10, will be broadcast on ESPN Deportes and ESPN International. Tickets are available for fans who want to come and watch the action, and guests will also be able to participate in salsa lessons taught by world-famous dancers.
Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis getting a preview of this exciting event, called by some "the Olympics of salsa."
