ATLANTA - You already know that Atlanta has been dubbed “the Hollywood of the South” thanks to the dozens of films and television series shooting here at any given time. But even with the ever-growing opportunities, it can still be a challenge breaking into show business in Atlanta.
That’s where a place like Get Scene Studios comes in. The Atlanta facility hosts frequent acting classes and workshops, and partners with local casting agencies to help actors hone their craft and hopefully book jobs. Owner Jesse Malinowski moved to Atlanta after filming the movie American Reunion here, and has since appeared in locally-filmed shows like “Devious Maids” and “24: Legacy” and films including the upcoming Boy Erased starring Nicole Kidman.
Given the popularity of Good Day Atlanta’s weekly “Casting Call” segment, we know there are plenty of people in North Georgia looking to get a foot in the door when it comes to the Atlanta film scene. So Paul Milliken spent the morning at Get Scene Studios, learning how acting schools can help men, women, and children make their dreams a reality.
